Car Rental Agadir to the Atlas Mountains
From Agadir, the Atlas is reachable two ways. The most direct: motorway A7 to Marrakech, then the Tichka Pass (2,260m) down to Ouarzazate and the Drâa Valley. The more scenic: the argan cooperative route through Taroudant and the Tizi n'Test Pass (2,092m), one of Morocco's most beautiful mountain roads.
isscars prepares vehicles for altitude roads: tyres in good shape, brakes checked. For winter passes (December to February), the Dacia Duster is the safest choice. The rest of the year, a Dacia Logan or Renault Clio gets you to Ouarzazate with ease.

Frequently asked questions
Q.Can I drive from Agadir to Ouarzazate in a rental car?
Yes. The route is 370 km via Taroudant and Tizi n'Test, or 470 km via Marrakech and Tichka. Both are manageable in a standard rental. Allow 5–6 hours.
Q.Are mountain roads dangerous for a rental car?
Moroccan passes are well-surfaced and manageable for careful drivers. Winter snowfall can temporarily close the Tichka. Check conditions before departing and choose the Duster for December–February trips.
Q.Do I need a 4x4 to reach Berber villages in the Atlas?
For main Atlas tracks (like Aït Benhaddou from Ouarzazate), a standard car is fine. For more remote villages, the Dacia Duster is recommended.
